I wish I could add a photo! These shrimps are beautiful and extremely tough. I was worried due to horror stories about sensitivity. They've been settling in just fine and are a little shy but exactly what I wanted.

Great so far! With update!

I’ve wanted cardinal Sulawesi shrimp for a long time and they can be hard to find. It was awesome to find them at Houston Aqua.
I’ve had them for two days but so far so good! They all look healthy, active and acclimated easily enough to my tank. I’ve read some cardinal Sulawesi won’t eat pellets but these will eat mineral junkie food. I’ve not tried other foods yet though.
Hopefully they’ll continue to do well but I’m super happy with them, especially for the price.

Update
I just wanted to post an update. I lost 2/10 shrimp within the first week, but after that they’ve been doing very well and seem hardy. I use Sulawesi Mineral 7.5, keep the temp around 92-93 degrees and tds 200-250. I haven’t noticed any illness with the shrimp. A few weeks ago I saw my first babies and just spotted another berried shrimp! Still super happy with these guys. My camera sucks but here’s a picture.

Stunning Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp

Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp is a great beginner aquarium shrimp and they have amazing coloration. They are one of the hardest shrimp we keep in the shrimp room.

This unique variety of Cardinal David is one of the more deluxe and least common varieties!

We are very excited to offer another color form of our most popular species, Cardinal David… the Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp!  This is one of the most recent forms in the ever-growing varieties of this dwarf shrimp species.  Boasting a beautiful coloration (especially with dark substrate), this variety will surely rise in popularity.  Some specimens have a green-yellow or green-blue coloration as well.  

Care for this shrimp is identical to all varieties of Cherry, Neon Yellow, Blue Velvet, Sapphire, Blue/Black Diamond, Chocolate, Snowball, and Rili Shrimp.  It is comparably durable as well.  

This shrimp is a scavenger and is very useful in planted and nano aquariums.  The bulk of its diet is a biofilm, algae, and decaying plant matter so it will work diligently to clean up the waste in any aquarium.  It feeds constantly, so it displays constant activity.  In a less mature aquarium, it should be fed high-quality flake and mini pellet dry foods with high algae/spirulina/plant content.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
